Johanna Mellis is a former Division I swimmer and currently an
Assistant Professor of History at Ursinus College outside of
Philadelphia. She teaches courses on world/global history, European
history, sport, the Cold War, imperialism, oral history, and more. Her
book examines how Hungarian sportspeople navigated state socialism and
