Gender Troubles is a podcast dedicated to debunking, demystifying and making accessible the world of academic feminism. Emma Austin and Eva Espeneshade talk through different feminist movements and moments from a critical, leftist lens. Episodes will work to shake up the feminist canon and provide a new spin on feminist history, movements, and icons.

Eva Espenshade

Eva Espenshade is a graduate of the Simone de Beauvoir Institute for Gender and Sexuality Studies at Concordia University and currently lives in her hometown of Burlington, Vermont. She was previously the managing editor for “Subversions: a Journal of Feminist Queries”, and the creator of many a riot grrl zine in high school.

Emma Austin

Emma Austin

Emma Austin is a musician and writer based in Montreal, QC. She completed a double major in Sociology and Gender Studies at Concordia University and currently works for various leftist media organizations, including CUTV and The Breach. Right now, she is working on a chapbook called “humming” that discusses music and memory.
