City and Nuuchimii
City and Nuuchimii is an independent, non-partisan current affairs podcast produced and hosted by Maïtée Saganash (in nuuchimii*) and Jenn Jefferys (in the city). Jenn and Maïtée, both political columnists in their respective provinces, have welcomed guests from across the pop culture and political spectrum — from Cadence Weapon, to Chantal Hébert, to one of the original writers for The Simpsons. With humour and irreverence, Indigeneity and profanity, this pod is a labour of love that prides itself on being run entirely by women – thus thwarting yet another white man from picking up a microphone

Where to Start
Maïtée Labrecque-Saganash is from the small First Nation of Waswanipi in Eeyou Istchee, nine hours north of Montréal, Québec. Maïtée is a tireless advocate for Indigenous rights, a political columnist, and a highly sought-after pundit on Québec television and radio. When she isn’t fighting for Cree sovereignty or advising the Cree Health Board, Maïtée can be found hunting and fishing on her ancestral lands.
Jenn Jefferys is a freelance journalist based in Ottawa who grew up working class in southwestern and southeastern Ontario. Jenn studied at the Pauline Jewett Institute of Women’s and Gender Studies and the School of Journalism and Communication at Carleton University. She retired as a ‘Beer Store Girl’ (UFCW Local 12R24) to chase her dreams of covering politics on Parliament Hill in 2014. She would generally always rather be kayaking.
